I can't wait for Canstuction!!!
Hi, my name is Tyler, a.k.a SergeantTyFish.
I am from Scoresby Primary School doing a special project called Canstruction.
Canstruction is where we have to make a structure out of 1,500 cans of all shapes and sizes.
Held at Monash Uni on 26th & 27th August, it is one awesome event.
After the comp, the cans get donated to those in need, like those affected by the Black Saturday bushfires.
Our topic for Canstruction is My Home Australia.

•Today we conducted our official Canstruction launch.
We introduced ourselves and had a pretty good powerpoint presentation consisting of music, pictures and some good info done by Amelia.
Then we talked about Planet Give, a organization which has people contributing ideas about certain events. If you had enough votes for your idea you would be given a whole bunch of cash depending on how many people voted for it. Their website is www.planetgive.com.
We were also going to do a dance or a demo about Canstruction building but we cut it out
for some reason. Mr Hough videoed the whole launch for us. We had annouced that we were thinking about doing Ned
Kelly's Helmet with a map of Australia around it and a Golden Circle can made out of cans. We are also getting people to donate more
cans so we can practise and fiddle around with. Plus the cans get donated as well with the food inside them. We also made posters as well to put up around the place. Since I was meant to be doing the dance or the demo, I just stood up the front with everyone.
Great success that will be put in the books. If you want to go to the official website for Canstruction, it is
www.canstruction.com. Damn it! Rumor is going around around that one of the other
groups is doing Ned Kelly. Thank god we have the koala. End of story.

•Today we messed around with the cans that had been donated. Our idea is now a koala.
We made some theries about defying gravity and at the end it was raining rubber bands.
Now I have been asked to do a stop-motion animation.
If anyone has seen a awesome stop-motion program or knows how to fix my ever-depleting digital camera battery,
please conact me on my discussion page.

•Now I have gotten a USB, I am able to transfer work from school to home.
I have now got a free Stop-Motion animation called AnimatorDV Simple version 9.02.
Before Thursday I have to finsh a sketch of our koala and a half-page blog about identifying a need.
Which I am going to start now.
Identifying a need!
To identify a need in the community and other areas, first you must ask about that need. It could be food, shelter, clothing
water or a number of other objects. Many third-world countries and other poor countries do not have these simple needs
that we take for granted every day. Then again, some of us have our needs taken away from us in
disasters such as fires, floods, storms, earthquakes, cyclones and many other numerous things.
They may have to shelter near a hill, eat whatever is on hand, drink dirty drinking water from a well.
I know I probably would not want to be in their situation at the time.
Thankfully, there are organizations such as World Vision and other charities with all the generous people
donating these needs. Needs are very simple to find in this world, because they are all around you.
All you have to do is listen, watch and you would very much likely find someone who needs something.
People who do need certain things are often grateful for when they get there need.
It is not a case of wanting anything, but a need is a important thing that you might need to survive.
